Before she died she said she was invisible and when she was at the hotel she tried to attract attention of the staff but they walked right past her. I wonder if this is a condition of the mind, and if it had anything to do with her long term counselling with a person centered team in the west country. As a person who had a long term fellowship with her swings in the downs and outs and the ups and overs it is important to me to resolve this to my satisfaction. One possible clue has come and that is the possibility that something else occurs when no-one will listen. As the counselling team will not discuss it it is difficult to rest her bones.

Current systems of classifying forms of life descend from the thought presented by the Greek philosopher Aristotle , who published in his metaphysical and logical works the first known classification of everything whatsoever, or "being". This is the scheme that gave moderns such words as substance, species and genus and was retained in modified and less general form by Linnaeus .
Aristotle also studied animals and classified them according to method of reproduction, as did Linnaeus later with plants. Aristotle's animal classification was soon made obsolete by additional knowledge and was forgotten.
The philosophical classification is in brief as follows.[1] Primary substance is the individual being; for example, Peter, Paul, etc. Secondary substance is a predicate that can properly or characteristically be said of a class of primary substances; for example, man of Peter, Paul, etc. The characteristic must not be merely in the individual; for example, being skilled in grammar. Grammatical skill leaves most of Peter out and therefore is not characteristic of him. Similarly man (all of mankind) is not in Peter; rather, he is in man.
Species is the secondary substance that is most proper to its individuals. The most characteristic thing that can be said of Peter is that Peter is a man. An identity is being postulated: "man" is equal to all its individuals and only those individuals. Members of a species differ only in number but are totally the same type.

So this is the Gecko with the feet....Geckos are small to average sized lizards belonging to the family Gekkonidae which are found in warm climates throughout the world. Geckos are unique among lizards in their vocalizations, making chirping sounds in social interactions with other geckos. There are an estimated 2,000 different species of geckos worldwide, with many in existence still yet to be found.The name stems from the Indonesian/Javanese word gekok, imitative of its cry. The Malay word for gecko is 'cicak'. All geckos, excluding the Eublepharinae family, have no eyelids and instead have a transparent membrane which they lick to clean. Many species will, in defense, expel a foul-smelling material and feces onto their aggressors. There are also many species that will drop their tails in defence, a process called Autotomy. Many species are well known for their specialized toe pads that enable them to climb smooth and vertical surfaces and even cross indoor ceilings with ease. These antics are well-known to people who live in warm regions of the world, where several species of geckos make their home inside human habitations. These species (for example the House Gecko) become part of the indoor menagerie and are seldom really discouraged because they feed on insects (pests).

If there is one thing we can be certain of in life, it's that eventually we will die – that is, we will no longer be alive. Sadly we are not completely certain what "being dead" means: defining death is much more complicated than it appears, and it's getting harder to define all the time.
As recently as a century ago, it was priests not doctors who declared a person dead. When in doubt, they looked for signs of putrefaction. As medicine advanced, however, it became apparent that death was not an event, but a process.
Even so, for practical purposes an arbitrary line had to be drawn. First it was taken as the heart stopping. Then came the notion of brain death and in the 1960’s this seemed like the way forward. For a while it was even considered foolproof: once activity ceases in the brain and brainstem you can never regain consciousness, and without intervention the body will quickly shut down.

From the time Catherine of Aragon, a Spanish princess and widow of his deceased brother, refused Henry's demand for divorce, leading to a break with the papal authority of Rome, the battle for religious control and the king's heart raged.
Dramatic reconstructions and passionate narration tell the stories of how the women were players, not just pawns, in the game. Their decisions were as influential in changing the course of English history as the king’s, but the stakes were high. Not all were able to dodge the executioner’s axe.
Anne Boleyn, who actively encouraged the king’s break with Rome with her keenness for the new Bible, was beheaded, as was Catherine Howard. Jane Seymour died after giving birth to the son Henry craved. Yet all left their mark.

Women then
Henry VIII's wives were powerful women in their own right, but this did not prevent their behaviour being bound by the mores and movements of the day. Women were very much second-class subjects of the crown. Wife-beating was seen as a man’s right.
In an age when a misogynistic Church and religion was central to society, women were seen as the authors of original sin, tempting men away from God. It was accepted that women were created to obey first their parents and then their husbands, and bear children. As with fundamentalist religions today, married women were supposed to hide their hair, which was seen as revealing too much of their sexual attraction. Dresses stretched to the floor to conceal the woman’s legs. The sacrament of marriage made the 'damnable act' of sex pure. With this consummation, a marriage would be completed. Without it the union would be void.
Education for common people was cursory and for women it was usually seen as pointless. For some the thirst for writing found release in love letters, even touching on the monarchy. Neither Jane Seymour or Catherine Howard had had much education at the time of their marriage to Henry.
For most girls any education they did receive was directed at how to be a good wife: religion, duties to their husband, looking after the house, sewing, a knowledge of herbs and plants for healing and food.
Marriage – which was generally at about 14, but for which there was no legal age – was usually arranged for a woman. Life expectancy for both men and women was around 30 years.
Noble, upper class and royal families arranged unions to create or maintain alliances of power. No family wanted to ally with one beneath their status, so there followed a lengthy negotiation, much intrigue and in-depth investigation. The couple would frequently not meet until their wedding.
Treaties provided betrothal contracts between royal households of different countries, while for other nobles formal agreements were the norm. A dowry of valuable items, such as money or jewels, would be agreed for transfer to the husband’s family. Property rights of women at all levels of society were extremely restricted, with most entitlements falling to their husbands.
Descriptions from ambassadors and painted portraits were often the only likenesses available to kings deciding upon a marriage, resulting in disaster for Anne of Cleves whom Henry liked on canvas but detested in the flesh.
No matter how well educated or powerful, from queen downward, a woman’s main purpose was to produce a son to assure her husband’s family line would continue. Deaths of mothers and their born and unborn babies were commonplace in the face of unhygienic conditions and physicians' limited medical knowledge. Most children died before reaching adulthood.
Women now
The position of women today may be vastly different, but in positions of power there is still often a sense that relationships are formed to further political or economic interests or to maintain or raise status.
In America, the relationship of former president Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary was regarded by many as a marriage of power, a view given extra credence when she remained loyal after his liaison with Monica Lewinsky.
In England, Prince Charles’ marriage to Diana was steeped in protocol, right from the moment when they first announced their intention to marry and checks had to be made into her sexual past.
Parallels can easily be drawn between Henry VIII’s complex love life and the confusion surrounding the future of Charles’s relationship with Camilla and its ramifications for the throne. Is he allowed to marry her or not?
Freedoms and rights of people in 21st-century society to act as they please and meet other cultures and classes without fear of arbitrary attack are way beyond what could have been imagined in Tudor England. Health and standards of living have also improved immeasurably, with the average life expectancy now well over 70.
It is nevertheless remarkable that despite legal and constitutional leaps, much of society remains within self-set bounds. Very few people marry out of their own social group, royals seldom wed commoners, economic, military and political power is still restricted to a mainly male elite forming just a few percent of the population and many men still inflict routine violence on their wives.

Summertime in Georgia and new record news!
Hello Everyone!This is Duffs reporting in. I just wanted to take a minute to inform you all on exactly what is happening here at camp LED, and most importantly what is going on with our next album. Last summer we began writing our record and recorded half of it with bassist Ryan Sinn. We were happy with how things were going and planned on finishing things up in the fall. We then got offered a tour with Tiger Army as well as a successful headlining tour in Europe.We took a short, but much needed break after all that touring and the holidays. After we resumed, LED had a member shift with Ryan saying farewell and Sean Jordan and Bryan Kelley-Holden joining. Writing resumed and we really started to focus on finishing the new songs. We then realized that we probably were only going to use 2 of the 5 songs recorded from last summer. So in turn, we began a writing frenzy as we prepared ourselves to hit the studio in May or June. However, we then found ourselves on tour with Goldfinger and were also offered the first 2 weeks of Warped Tour, leaving us only about 80 percent ready to make a record that we wanted to feel 100 percent about.Timing is everything.Recently I have gotten together with a good friend of mine by the name of Travis Richter. You might have seen him perform with his band From First To Last. If you haven't, you should. Their new record sounds amazing! Even if you've seen or heard of them before, check them out again. Last week, Travis showed me tracks both he and Lee Dyness (From First To Last, Mayday Parade) have been producing at their studio. As a studio geek myself, it didn't take long to convince me of what we needed to do here.To make a long story short, the stuff Travis and Lee are doing sounds awesome and they have joined camp LED to produce our next full length record. We will be heading out to the southland of Georgia in August, with a solid team behind us, to spend more time in the studio then we've ever had the privilege of having. It is a scene we have seen so many times. Except that in this case, the money changer also has a second job: he is a beggar. He is a familiar sight at Kimironko-the bright red wheelchair to which his crippled legs have condemned him is hard to miss. Pushing the chair between the busses, he holds out his hand to commuters who, due to his infirmity and sympathetic face, often find it hard to refuse this poor creature some small change.
Yet in between his rounds, he plies his second trade. "It doesn't matter what denomination you need change for, he always has sufficient as long as you pay his commission," says Patrice Kamali a conductor on the Kimironko-city center route.

There is a great rush to the port of Eyl, where most of the hijacked vessels are kept by the well-armed pirate gangs.
People put on ties and smart clothes. They arrive in land cruisers with their laptops, one saying he is the pirates' accountant, another that he is their chief negotiator.

The going rate for ransom payments is between $300,000 and $1.5m (£168,000-£838,000).
A recent visitor to the town explained how, even though the number of pirates who actually take part in a hijacking is relatively small, the whole modern industry of piracy involves many more people.

"The number of people who make the first attack is small, normally from seven to 10," he said.
"They go out in powerful speedboats armed with heavy weapons. But once they seize the ship, about 50 pirates stay on board the vessel. And about 50 more wait on shore in case anything goes wrong."
